Description
Critical systems are systems whose failure could have serious consequences, such as serious injury or loss of life. They concern areas where safety is essential, such as automated transport, medical devices, energy production (particularly nuclear), banking systems and security and defence. Artificial intelligence (AI), when properly mastered, helps to make more effective and rapid decisions in these areas.
Pierre CONSTANTIN will illustrate these challenges, particularly in Aerospace and Defence. Thales ensures the safety and performance of AI systems with rigorous measures and adjusts the levels of autonomy and adaptation to missions. AI must also manage specific constraints such as the complexity of systems, the physical and energy limits of components, and intermittent connectivity problems.
